You remember my letter to Tim Hortons, right? This was, by far, the most popular item I have written for this site to date. I did not consider it to be particularly brilliant, and I am sure I am not alone here, but there are people that did think it was quite good.

So I set about writing a sequel of sorts to this first letter. This began feeling a bit like making "Caddyshack 2" or "Speed 2: Cruise Control" must have, meaning that I was in it for the money and was totally disregarding the effect it may have on my future reputation. Err, no -- rather I mean that an ominous feeling loomed over the process, indicating that a disaster of epic proportions was awaiting me. However, I think it turned out all right in the end. I guess I'll let you be the judge of that.

Today's Updates: A letter to ijobo.com

I have not seen either "Spiderman" or "Star Wars Episode Two: Attack of the Clones" yet. This makes me one of the five of us in North America in this situation. The strange thing is that I don't feel a particular urge to see either film. If I were going to go to the theatre this weekend, actually, my movie of choice would be "About a Boy," since I recently finished reading the novel by Nick Hornby. Weird? Absolutely.

As far as today's update goes, this is the first time I have really bashed an album. I suppose the Dashboard Confessional and Hives reviews count for something, but this one seemed more fulfulling. And yes, the last couple of paragraphs are 100% true.

Forgive me for the lengthy delay between updates. I have been busy with schoolwork. No, really. This week alone, I have had to worry about essays and speeches and tests (oh my!). But mainly I was focused on this site.

Okay, okay. So that was not entirely true. However, the point is that there is a new update today that I think you will enjoy. A week or two ago, while reading a news story on ESPN.com, I stumbled across a picture of Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Jack Wilson that I found absolutely hysterical. Having also recently seen an equally odd picture of Odalis Perez on ESPN a week before, inspiration hit. Since then, Finn McCumhail and I have scoured ESPN's baseball player database, looking for the best of the best player photos. And we think we may have just found them.

Today's Updates: 05/04 Ramblings

May is here. With May comes the inevitable countdown until the end of the school year and, supposedly, nice weather. Some of us are still waiting for that second one. But hey, I am trying to tie a seemingly random observation into a CD review plug, so let me keep going here.

May is the second full month of Spring. Spring is a good season, I think. It is when a Young Man's Fancy Turns to Love or something like that. One person who would know about that is: Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional. This is the subject of today's music review.

Dan and I are trying something different here. We both had such strong feelings in opposite directions about this Dashboard Confessional album, that we felt it was necessary to offer up both of our opinions in the same review. Also, we take shots at each other's personal hygiene and physical abnormalities. No, no! I am just joking! Check out the inaugural Luke vs. Dan review, as we debate the pros and cons of The Swiss Army Romance. But mainly the cons.
